Did you know that Tomaree, Port Stephens, has three main marinas?
The most iconic, of course, is Nelson Bay Marina, right in the heart of Nelson Bay.
But there are two others that are just as wonderful to visit, and you don’t have to be a boatie or a yachtie to appreciate them!
Each marina is located beside beaches and scenic walkways, making them perfect for a leisurely stroll, a refreshing swim, or even a bit of fishing.
And fur-friends are also welcome!
Soldiers Point Marina
Situated at the very tip of the Soldiers Point Peninsula, Soldiers Point Marina is home to two fantastic restaurants—The Deck and Restaurant 2317—as well as the waterfront café Sea Salt.
Sea Salt is a favourite of ours, run by the lovely Sarah and Joel, former co-owners of Zenith Café. Their team is always friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious, and best of all—your furry friends are welcome too! Enjoy breakfast, morning tea, or lunch with stunning marina views over the western part of the bay.
Adjacent to the marina, Sunset Beach offers the perfect spot for a quick dip, and there’s even a dog-friendly park nearby. Just be sure to check the weather before heading there, as Sea Salt closes on wet or windy days.
Anchorage Marina
Located in Corlette, the Anchorage Marina sits beside the luxurious Anchorage Resort. A fantastic recent addition to the marina is The Coffee Maker, a great spot for breakfast or lunch with waterfront views.
While the resort itself isn’t pet-friendly, the marina walkway is, and The Coffee Maker welcomes furry visitors too! Nearby, you’ll find calm bay beaches and a scenic coastal walkway that stretches along Corlette’s beautiful foreshore.
There’s also a children’s playground close to the marina, making it a great stop for families. Enjoy a picnic or barbecue in this calm and relaxing area of Port Stephens.
