INNERLIGHT TEA ROOMS – DOG FRIENDLY!

We love going up to the Lighthouse Tea Rooms (“Innerlight” is the proper name but we all tend to call it the Lighthouse Tea Rooms) – some beautiful improvements have been made over the last few years, with the extension of the outside dining area which provides even more expansive views over Shoal Bay – see the photo above – just magic! No matter how many times we go there, we are still totally swept away by the views of Jimmy’s Beach and Hawks Nest to the north and Tomaree Headland to the south.

The delightful Kerry runs the Tea Rooms (I also go to local art classes with her – a separate story) and the food is lovely, fresh and reasonable. Cakes are home made; last week, my sister had a layered meringue chocolate cake and I had the home made lime tart – there is just nothing like home made cakes, is there?

On our last visit, it was so wonderful to see that the Tea Rooms are now dog friendly! There is an area available for you to sit with your dogs outside; just to let you know, not all of the outside area is dog friendly but Kerry said there is a number of tables available for you and your dogs.

The Tea Rooms is always busy on the weekend and parking is limited at the top of the hill so our suggestion is to go mid-week; or earlier (say 11.30 for lunch to grab a spot and linger over coffee or BYO wine); or park at the bottom in the parking area near Little Beach. If you a feeling more energetic, take the walk from the Cottages along the Shoal Bay forefront (just beautiful), back around behind Little Beach and then up the hill.

Reservations are also available – ring them on 4984 2505 and the website ishttp://innerlighttearooms.com.au/ (Having just wrote this, I’ve decided we are going to the Tea Rooms tomorrow – just love it there!)
